BearsEars JOOMLA

Crow Canyon's schedule of 2019 Cultural Explorations travel seminars is now available—and next year promises some incredible opportunities to explore the rich cultural heritage of the American West and beyond.

Cultural Explorations travel seminars are unique opportunities to travel and learn in the company of like-minded travelers and experts, including scholars and archaeologists. As a traveler on a Crow Canyon Cultural Explorations tour, you'll enjoy limited group sizes, behind-the-scenes tours, and privileged access to sites on tribal, public, and private land.

Here are just a few of the Cultural Exploration travel seminars on deck for 2019:

Coso of the Mojave: Rock Art and Desert Cultures — One of the densest and most spectacular concentrations of rock art in North America, the Coso of the Mojave Desert still remains a mystery. Explore this landscape through descendant community voices and Coso experts. April 2-8, 2019

Fremont: Ute & Pueblo Perspectives & Pathways — Traces of Fremont culture can be understood through language, rock imagery, cultural traditions, and other archaeological evidence. Investigate possible connections between the Fremont past and Pueblo and Ute cultures of today. May 19-25, 2019

Southwest Indian Art: Women of Wonder — Native American art has been created by women for centuries. Explore the women of wonder who have created amazing masterpieces. Visit with artists from the Kewa, Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, Acoma and Santa Clara tribes and learn about the role of women in Native American art. June 12-18, 2019

Tiwa Culture: A Mosaic of Landscapes & Languages — Understand their ancestral and modern-day culture as we explore landscapes, share in a service project with tribal members, and celebrate a Feast Day ceremony at Taos Pueblo. September 25-October 1, 2019

In addition, Crow Canyon is proud to offer a pair of exciting international Cultural Explorations travel seminars:

Vineyards & Villages of Southern France — Explore the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains in southern France. Retrace ancient footsteps. Get lost in the mysteries of the past when touring Cathar castles and medieval grandeur of Carcassonne. And enjoy wine tastings throughout this journey. September 7-16, 2019.

Meridian Migrations: Destination Paquimé — Travel through time in the land of Chihuahua as you trace ancient civilizations to Paquimé. Study the trade routes, architectural styles, and cultures that impacted the earliest dwellers who inhabited this important anchor point of the Chaco Meridian. November 4-12, 2019.
