Director of Finance (FT) NEW

As a member of Crow Canyon’s Leadership Team, the Director of Finance plays a key role in the overall success of the organization by assisting in the development, implementation, and enforcement of financial policies, practices, and internal controls and analyzing the financial condition of the organization, proposing improvements and corrective actions when necessary. The Director of Finance co-leads the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process with the CEO in collaboration with other department leaders, and works with the CEO to appropriately allocate resources to meet short term needs and ensure long term financial strength. The Director of Finance leads and manages department staff and works collaboratively with the CEO on strategic financial and business planning.

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, and at least 10 years’ experience leading the fiscal functions of a mid-sized not-for-profit. Private sector experience also will be considered. Must be bondable.

Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist (Full-time)

 This position is responsible for preparing and processing the bi-weekly payroll and accounts payable functions. Prepares entries for related benefits including, but not limited to employee health insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, workers compensation, federal and state taxes. Performs monthly reconciliation of related general ledger accounts, and prepares other wage and benefit schedules as required. Maintains administration of timekeeping system. Prepares annual 1099 and W-2 reporting to IRS. Performs detailed accounting duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures.

Education and/or Experience:

Three or more years of experience in Human Resources and/or administrative assistance. Professional certifications in HR, coursework, or a degree in HR preferred.

NEW: Assists the Chef and Sous Chef in food preparation, following established kitchen procedures and methods, and performs a variety of other tasks related to food-service operations, including meal and salad bar assembly, serving food, and cleanup of food-service areas. Maintenance Technician - Full-time

The Maintenance Technician has a very important role in the operations of the Center. This person works to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, campus visitors, and program participants, including children. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties including troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing buildings, equipment, plumbing, and vehicles, as well as maintaining the safety and appearance of the campus grounds. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and will require a background check upon hire.

Camp Chaperones Needed

The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center seeks applicants for camp chaperones for summer programs.  Chaperones reside with the students in the campus housing and provide care, supervision, and activities for students ages 12 through 18.  Hours are 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. Compensation includes meals and lodging.  The workweek is typically midday Sunday – midday Saturday.

Two positions - Middle School Archaeology (June 16th – June 22nd )

Two positions - High School Field School  (June 23rd – July 13th )      

Two positons - High School Archaeology Camp (July 14th – July 20th)

Qualifications:  Experience working with students ages 12 through 18 and the ability to transport students in a 15 passenger van; must be at least 21 years of age.  Background check required.  Current First Aid and CPR or Emergency Medical Responder certification preferred.

Preference will be given to applicants willing to stay the full 5 weeks.
